Furniture Moving — One Piece or One Room

A single item, a few pieces, or one room's worth. Collected, protected, carried up the stairs and put where it belongs.

A few details is all we need to come back to you with something real.

This is the smallest move we do, and we do a great deal of it: one sofa, one bed, a dining set, or the contents of a single room. There is no minimum number of items and no expectation that it grows into a house move.

Furniture moving is the job that is surprisingly hard to buy. Retail delivery stops at the door or the kerb. Marketplace sellers expect you to bring a truck. Large movers will not send a crew for one sofa.

We will. Whether you have ordered something from Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, or a big-box store, we can collect it, get it inside, up the stairs, through the awkward doorway, and assembled if it needs to be.

How it works

From Quote Request to Moving Day

Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan. Here is what happens, step by step.
  1. Start

Tell us what you know through the quote form or a phone call. You do not have to know every detail before you start.

  2. Show Us

Send photos, a short video or a shared Drive folder, or book a virtual or in-home visit. Our emails guide you through what to send.

  3. Quote

You receive a written quote package to review and sign. Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan.

  4. Move Day

A careful, methodical crew protects your home and belongings, with the day planned so nobody is rushing off to the next job.

What We Move

  • Sofas, sectionals, recliners and chairs
  • Beds, mattresses, dressers and wardrobes
  • Dining sets, hutches and sideboards
  • Appliances — fridges, washers, dryers, freezers
  • Desks, filing cabinets and office furniture
  • Treadmills, exercise equipment and workbenches
  • A single heirloom piece going to a family member in another city

How Furniture Should Travel

Every piece is blanket-wrapped before it leaves the room, not after it is in the truck. Upholstery gets wrapped, glass and mirrors are padded and carried on edge, and drawers are secured or removed.

In the truck, items are loaded in tiers and strapped so nothing shifts on the road. A single item in an empty truck is more vulnerable than a full load, not less, because there is nothing holding it in place — so it gets strapped to the wall rather than left to slide.

The Awkward Ones

Sectionals, sofa beds, wardrobes, box springs and treadmills are the items that most often will not go where their owners assume. A sofa bed weighs far more than a sofa; a box spring does not bend; a sectional that came in through a patio door may not come out through a hallway.

Photographs and measurements settle it beforehand. We would much rather tell you a piece needs dismantling, or genuinely will not fit, than have that conversation on a landing.

Assembly and Disassembly

Dismantling is often the answer rather than a last resort — a bed, a table, a wardrobe or a sectional taken apart properly goes through doors that it could not otherwise pass, and reassembles in minutes.

We do both ends, and we can assemble flat-pack items collected on the way, including unboxing and taking the packaging away.

What a Furniture Move Includes

  • Collection from a store, a seller or another address
  • Blanket wrap, padding and straps on every piece
  • Disassembly and reassembly where it is needed
  • Carrying up or down stairs, and through tight doorways
  • Placement in the room, not a drop at the door
  • Unboxing, set-up and removal of the packaging
  • Taking the piece it replaces away, if you want it gone

Questions Families Ask Us

Will you collect from Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace?

Yes, routinely. Give us the seller's address, your address, what the item is, roughly its size, and what stairs or doorways are involved at your end. Confirm with the seller when someone will be there to release it.

Can you take the old sofa away when you deliver the new one?

Usually yes — we can take furniture and general household items for donation or disposal on the same visit, with the usual exclusions on anything bug-infested, leaking or hazardous. Mention it when you book so we allow the space.

What if the piece will not fit through the door?

We would rather establish that beforehand. Send photos of the item and the doorway with rough measurements and we will tell you whether it goes in whole, needs dismantling, or genuinely will not fit — before anybody has paid for a delivery that has to go back.

Do you move pianos?

It depends entirely on the instrument and the route. Some uprights are within what we do; a grand piano generally is not. Send photos and measurements and we will give you an honest answer rather than attempt something we should not.
