VIRTUAL SURVEY

Send Us Photos. Get a Realistic Plan.

Ten minutes with a phone gets you a far better quote than half an hour on the telephone. Here is how to film it.

A mover who quotes without seeing your home is guessing, and their guess will be corrected on the day at your expense. The single most useful thing you can do for the accuracy of a quote — ours or anybody's — is to show them.

A video walkthrough on a phone takes about ten minutes and answers almost everything we need: the volume, the access, the difficult items and the stairs.

Know what to expect. That is the whole point of doing this.

How it works

From Quote Request to Moving Day

Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan. Here is what happens, step by step.
  1. Start

Tell us what you know through the quote form or a phone call. You do not have to know every detail before you start.

  2. Show Us

Send photos, a short video or a shared Drive folder, or book a virtual or in-home visit. Our emails guide you through what to send.

  3. Quote

You receive a written quote package to review and sign. Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan.

  4. Move Day

A careful, methodical crew protects your home and belongings, with the day planned so nobody is rushing off to the next job.

How to Film It

Hold the phone horizontally, walk slowly, and narrate. You do not need a steady hand or good lighting — you need every room and a commentary.

  • Say who you are first: your full name, the address or building you are moving out of, and the move date if you have one — photos reach us with no name attached
  • Start outside: the street, the driveway, the front door and any steps
  • Walk in and pan slowly around each room, all four walls
  • Open closets, cupboards and wardrobes — say what is coming and what is not
  • Film the stairs from the bottom and the top, including any turn or landing
  • Do the basement, the garage, the shed and any storage — every time
  • Say out loud what is not going: "this stays", "this goes to my daughter"
  • Finish with anything you are worried about, close up

What to Show Us at the New Address

  • The floor plan or the room dimensions, if you have them
  • The front door and how you get to it from where a truck can park
  • The stairs, or the elevator and its doorway
  • The corridor turn outside the unit door, in an apartment or suite
  • Any storage locker, and its real size
  • Where you want the big pieces to end up

What We Do With It

We work out the real inventory, spot the items that need dismantling or a different route, identify the access constraints, and decide the crew and truck the move actually needs.

Then you get a written quote with a plan behind it, which you can read and question before you commit to anything. Send us photos, get a realistic plan, know what to expect.

If You Would Rather We Came in Person

For local moves we can usually arrange to see the home, and on larger or more complicated jobs it is often the better option. A video is faster and, done properly, nearly as good — but it is a substitute for a visit rather than an improvement on one.

Ask, and we will tell you which we think your move needs.

What Makes a Quote Accurate

  • A real inventory rather than a room count
  • Access understood at both ends, including parking and carries
  • Difficult furniture identified in advance
  • Any building rules — elevator windows, dock heights — already known
  • A clear line between what is going and what is not
  • Agreement on how much packing will be finished before the day

Brett and his team are always professional and caring, I feel as if they would treat each person they help move as their own Grandparent. They respect guidelines surrounding move times for our building, and make sure each piece they move is treated with care and concern.

Questions Families Ask Us

How do I send you a long video?

Whatever is easiest for you — a phone message, a shared link from your phone's cloud storage, or several shorter clips. Please include your full name, the address or building you are moving out of and your move date, because photos and videos arrive with nothing on them to say whose home it is. Call us on 519-502-7832 and we will tell you where to send it.

Is a video quote binding?

Your written quote sets out what applies to your move based on what we were shown. If the reality on the day is materially different from the walkthrough — a garage nobody mentioned, twice the boxes, stairs, a long carry, an extra stop, appliances or specialty items we were not shown — the crew, truck, trips, materials, time, mileage and final bill can change, and we would tell you that at the door rather than at the end.

What if I am not the person in the house?

Very common, particularly on senior moves organised by an adult child. Anybody can film it, including the resident with a family member on the phone. Just make sure the basement, the garage and the storage are included.

Do I have to do this?

A video is one way, not the only one — but we do need enough information to give a formal quote: a questionnaire or inventory, photos, a video walkthrough, or a virtual or in-home assessment. Larger, senior and more complex moves may need an assessment. A mover cannot price what they have not seen, and the gap between a phone estimate and reality is where unhappy moving days come from.
