HANDYMAN & TECH

Small Repairs, Assembly and Patient Tech Help

The jobs on the list that never quite justify a trade call-out — and the technology nobody wants to phone a grandchild about again.

People. Possessions. Peace of Mind.

There is a particular kind of list that builds up in a home: a curtain rod that came down, flat-pack furniture still in its box, a picture that has been leaning against the wall since the spring, a printer that stopped talking to the tablet.

None of it is an emergency and none of it is worth a trade minimum charge, so it waits. Stallion works through that list in one visit, and tells you straight away if something on it needs a licensed installer instead of us.

Handyman Work

  • Shelves, hooks, mirrors, curtain rods and pictures put up properly
  • Televisions and brackets mounted where the wall allows it
  • Flat-pack and delivered furniture assembled — or taken apart for a move
  • Doors and drawers that stick, handles that have worked loose
  • Small non-structural fixes that have been on the list for months

Technology Help, at the Right Pace

Tech help is not a lecture. It is sitting down with the actual device, fixing the actual problem, and writing the steps on paper if that is what will help next week.

  • Televisions, remotes, streaming boxes and getting back to the right input
  • Phones and tablets: set-up, updates, storage, making the text bigger
  • Video calls with family set up so they can be answered one-handed
  • Wi-Fi, printers and the devices that are supposed to talk to each other
  • Written notes left behind, in plain words

Where We Stop

This matters more than any list of jobs. Stallion is a moving and practical support company, not a licensed trade.

  • Electrical, plumbing and gas work go to the appropriate licensed trade
  • Structural and weight-bearing installation is not ours to do
  • Grab bars and safety rails: see the home safety page for how we handle those honestly
  • We will not quietly do a regulated job because it would be quicker than saying no

What's Included

  • Hourly handyman work at the published seniors rate
  • Our own basic tools and fixings for non-structural work
  • A look at the wall or fixing point before anything is drilled
  • Packaging and offcuts taken away
  • A clear note of anything that needs a licensed trade instead

What This Costs

Hourly support with no hidden fees, published before you call. Moving and downsizing is quoted per job, because a move has too many variables for one hourly figure to be honest about.

What Families Tell Us

Brett and his team are always professional and caring, I feel as if they would treat each person they help move as their own Grandparent. They respect guidelines surrounding move times for our building, and make sure each piece they move is treated with care and concern.

I had Stallion Movers today to move my dad from his home to a retirement home and am so pleased with their professionalism, punctuality and friendliness. Brett and Mitch were so careful getting around the items that weren't being moved. They were very thorough and moved quickly. Also Wendy in their office was extremely helpful and patient with all my questions and emails. I highly recommend them for any service you need that they provide. They came highly recommended so I didn't even get other quotes and that was the right decision. Thank you!

Wow. Excellent service, clean, professional, timely etc. We needed to move my mother to a senior's residence and her stuff. The residence recommended 2 services and I elected Stallion - possibly (likely) the other may be as good but Stallion were exceptional. I would highly recommend them for any move not just a senior transfer...

Great company, prompt and professional. I have used Stallion Movers twice to move my parents into retirement residences. They are professional, and super easy to deal with and understand and respect the protocols with senior residences. I highly recommend them.

Questions Families Ask Us

Can you mount a television on any wall?

On most walls, once we have found something solid to fix into. If the wall will not safely take the bracket — or the mount needs structural reinforcement — we stop and tell you, rather than hanging a television on hope.

Will you install a grab bar?

Some safety and weight-bearing installations, grab bars among them, need an appropriately qualified or licensed installer. We will help you plan the positions, tell you what the job involves and handle the non-structural practical parts — and we will not do work outside our permitted scope.

How much technology can you cover in an hour?

More than you would think if the goal is one specific thing working, and less than you would hope if the goal is being comfortable with everything. Tell us the one thing that matters most and we will start there.

What if the thing I need is not on your list?

Ask. The list on this site is what we are set up to do routinely, not the limit of what we will consider. If it is something we cannot do — or should not do, because it needs a licensed trade or a regulated professional — we will say so plainly and, where we can, point you at someone who does it properly.
