Moving Services in Paris

Paris sits where the Nith meets the Grand in Brant County, built on the slopes above both rivers, with a historic downtown, a well-known stock of cobblestone and brick houses from the mid-1800s, older residential streets on the hills, and substantial newer subdivision on the flatter land above.

Paris is one of the hilliest places we work. Grade is not a footnote in a Paris move; it is often the main planning constraint.

Stallion Movers is a senior and small-move specialist. That means the moves we do best are the ones bigger companies treat as filler: a retirement-suite move-in, an apartment, a condo, a house of any size, a few rooms of furniture, or a move that happens inside one address. We plan a Paris move before the truck is booked, so the day itself holds no surprises for anybody. We work across Brant County and the communities around it, Brantford and Ayr included, so a move with one end here and the other nearby is a single day rather than two jobs.

How it works

From Quote Request to Moving Day

Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan. Here is what happens, step by step.
  1. Start

Tell us what you know through the quote form or a phone call. You do not have to know every detail before you start.

  2. Show Us

Send photos, a short video or a shared Drive folder, or book a virtual or in-home visit. Our emails guide you through what to send.

  3. Quote

You receive a written quote package to review and sign. Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan.

  4. Move Day

A careful, methodical crew protects your home and belongings, with the day planned so nobody is rushing off to the next job.

Senior & Retirement-Home Moves in Paris

A move into retirement living is not an ordinary moving day, and treating it like one is how families end up exhausted. Senior moves in Paris often end in Brantford or Cambridge, where more of the area's retirement suites are, though there is seniors housing in the town itself.

We can take on far more than the lift. Planning the sequence, measuring what will actually fit the new suite, packing, moving, taking donations away, and unpacking and setting the suite up so the first evening in it feels liveable rather than like a storage unit. Where a residence has move-in windows, elevator bookings, insurance paperwork or a loading route it wants used, we work to those requirements rather than arriving and asking.

If you are the adult child organising this from a distance, you do not have to coordinate every piece of it yourself. One call can handle a lot of moving pieces.

Downsizing & Packing in Paris

Moving from more space into less is the hard part of most Paris senior moves, and it is rarely a one-afternoon job. Older Paris houses have cellars, attics and small rooms, and thirty or forty years in one of them produces far more volume than the floor plan suggests.

We help sort room by room at a pace that suits the person whose belongings they are, pack what is going, and handle donation drop-offs and disposal for what is not. Nothing bug-infested, leaking or hazardous — but the ordinary furniture and household goods nobody has room for, we can take away rather than leave in a hallway.

The Moves We Do Best

Our sweet spot is senior moves, apartments, condos, retirement suites, townhomes and family homes up to four bedrooms. Larger or unusually complex moves are reviewed individually.
  • Apartments and walk-up units
  • Condominium suites
  • Retirement-residence suites
  • Houses of all sizes, with larger moves by assessment
  • Single-item and small furniture moves
  • In-home moves — rearranging within one address
  • Small offices and professional practices
  • Packing, unpacking and downsizing alongside the move

What We Actually Do in Paris

Household moves of all sizes (larger or multi-load moves by assessment), senior moves and retirement-suite move-ins, downsizing and packing, apartment moves, furniture moves and in-home moves in Paris and Brant County.

We plan Paris moves around the grade and the older streets rather than treating them as an ordinary suburban day.

We are honest about the edges of what we do. If a move is genuinely too large for us, or the distance means we cannot serve it well, we say so rather than take the booking. Paris is a scheduled run south from Waterloo Region via Ayr or the 403 — out-of-town work, with travel set out in the quote.

For a Paris quote, tell us about the stairs, the elevator and its booking, where a truck can park, any long carry from the kerb, extra stops, appliances, and anything heavy, specialty or valuable. Photos or a short video of the rooms and the frontage let us size the crew and truck properly; larger and senior moves may need a virtual or in-home assessment first.

Access & Logistics That Actually Affect a Paris Move

  • The town is built on the slopes above two river valleys, and the residential streets running down to the Grand and the Nith carry serious grade. A loaded dolly on those slopes in ice is a stop-work decision; in summer it is still a two-person job where one would do on the flat.
  • The historic core has narrow streets, houses set close to the road, few driveways and limited turning room. Some addresses need a smaller truck and some need a carry from a legal parking point up the street.
  • The cobblestone and solid-masonry houses have thick walls with narrow original openings, steep staircases with turns, and cellars with low headroom and stone steps. Openings and stairs, not truck capacity, decide a Paris move.
  • Bridges over the Grand and the Nith are the pinch points in the street network; a closure turns a five-minute cross-town move into a twenty-minute one.
  • Winter is materially harder here than on flat ground. An unshovelled sloped driveway is not a minor delay — it can mean we load from the street instead, with a longer carry and more time.
  • Newer subdivisions on the high flat ground above the valleys are straightforward for a truck, with the usual long driveways and long front walks.
  • Brant County properties outside the town are on gravel laneways that soften in the spring thaw, with side or rear loading over gravel or grass.

Paris Moving Questions

Our Paris house is on a steep street. What does that mean for the move?

It means we plan it rather than discover it. Depending on the grade and the weather we may park at the top and carry, add crew, or in ice avoid running loaded dollies on the slope altogether. Send a photo of the street from the bottom and the driveway from the road and we will tell you exactly what we would do.

Will your truck fit in the older part of town?

Often, but not always. The historic core has narrow streets, houses at the kerb and little turning room, and a few addresses genuinely need a smaller vehicle or a shuttle. Photos of the street and the frontage settle it before we commit a truck, which is much better than settling it on the morning.

How does travel to Paris affect the price?

Paris is a scheduled run south from Waterloo Region via Ayr or the 403 — out-of-town work, with travel set out in the quote. The first 40 round-trip kilometres are included on local moves. Additional mileage/travel charges may apply outside the local area. The travel and billing section of our pricing page explains how that works, and your written quote confirms the actual figures for your move — before HST. We do not estimate distance loosely and then adjust it on the invoice.
