WHAT WE CARRY

Items We Can & Cannot Move

Most things, carefully. A short list of things not at all — and it is better to know which is which before the day.

Every mover has a list of things it will not carry, and most customers only discover it when a crew declines something on a driveway. That is a bad moment for everybody, so here is ours in advance.

The exclusions are not arbitrary. They are about safety, about other people's belongings on the same truck, and about items nobody can responsibly transport in a furniture load.

How it works

From Quote Request to Moving Day

Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan. Here is what happens, step by step.
  1. Start

Tell us what you know through the quote form or a phone call. You do not have to know every detail before you start.

  2. Show Us

Send photos, a short video or a shared Drive folder, or book a virtual or in-home visit. Our emails guide you through what to send.

  3. Quote

You receive a written quote package to review and sign. Every move is different, so we confirm the scope before finalizing the plan.

  4. Move Day

A careful, methodical crew protects your home and belongings, with the day planned so nobody is rushing off to the next job.

The Ordinary Things — Yes

  • Furniture of all kinds, including upholstery, beds and dining sets
  • Mattresses and box springs, in mattress bags
  • Appliances — emptied, defrosted, drained and disconnected before we arrive
  • Televisions and electronics — original cartons are best
  • Sealed, labelled boxes of household goods, each under 50 lb
  • Artwork, mirrors and glass, padded and carried on edge
  • Garden furniture, tools, bicycles and sports equipment
  • Office furniture, filing cabinets and shelving

Special Items — Tell Us First

We can move many of these, but only when they are disclosed before the move and planned into your quote — they may need extra crew, equipment, preparation or a written waiver for a tight route.

  • Upright pianos and pool tables — only where explicitly quoted; grand and player pianos are not moved
  • Safes, gym equipment and other heavy or oversized items
  • Power recliners, lift chairs and adjustable beds — power modules, batteries and cords disconnected first
  • Firearms — only if declared in advance, unloaded and secured in a locked hard case or safe
  • Aquariums — only when fully emptied of water, fish, gravel and accessories
  • Clocks — pendulums and weights removed first
  • Glass, marble, porcelain and ceramics — best protected when Stallion packs them
  • Particle-board and flat-pack furniture — should be fully taken apart before the move
  • High-value, heirloom and specialty items — disclose them when you get your quote

What We Cannot Transport

These are excluded under our terms and conditions. Undeclared prohibited or dangerous goods found during a move may be refused, left behind or disposed of.

  • Hazardous and flammable goods — gasoline, diesel, propane and any fuel, including in a mower or barbecue tank
  • Explosive and pressurized items — aerosols, compressed-gas cylinders, fireworks
  • Paint, solvents, cleaning and pool chemicals, fertiliser and pesticides
  • Ammunition, powder, primers and any ordnance
  • Perishable goods — food that will spoil, and plants
  • Biological items
  • Pets and live animals — they travel with you

Keep These With You

Our terms ask you to keep irreplaceable and sensitive items in your own custody. Stallion is not responsible for them unless they are disclosed and accepted in writing.

  • Identification, passports and important documents
  • Cash, cheques and securities
  • Medication
  • Jewellery and heirlooms
  • Laptops and remotes

Pests

If a crew finds evidence of an infestation — bedbugs, cockroaches or rodents — work stops immediately for everyone’s safety, and charges to that point remain due. Work can resume only after certified remediation. If you suspect a problem, tell us before the day so we can plan around it.

What to Do With the Excluded Things

Fuel can be run down or drained; propane tanks can be exchanged or returned; paint and chemicals go to a municipal household hazardous waste depot, which most Ontario municipalities run for residents.

Plan those a week or two ahead rather than the night before. A garage full of half-used paint tins is the most common last-minute problem on a moving day, and it is entirely avoidable.

Send Us Photos of Anything You Are Unsure About

  • The item itself, with something in frame for scale
  • A rough weight if you know it
  • The doorway or stairway it has to pass
  • Whether it has been moved before, and how
  • Whether it comes apart, and whether you have the fittings
  • Anything about it that already worries you

Questions Families Ask Us

Can you move my piano?

Upright pianos, where explicitly quoted. Grand and player pianos are not moved. Send photos, measurements and the route in and out, and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we can quote.

What do I do with the paint and the propane?

Paint, solvents and chemicals go to your municipal household hazardous waste depot. Propane tanks can be exchanged or returned to a retailer. None of them can travel on the truck, so plan it a week or two ahead.

Can you move my plants?

No. Plants are perishable and are not transported on the truck. Take the treasured ones in your own car, or rehome them before the move.

Can you move a firearm?

Only if it is declared in advance, unloaded, and secured in a locked hard case or safe. Ammunition is never transported.

Do you connect appliances?

No. We do not perform plumbing or electrical connections. Appliances should be emptied, drained and disconnected before we arrive, with washer shipping bolts secured.

Not Sure About Something?

Send us a photo. We would far rather answer it now than have the conversation on your driveway.
