Guelph Neighbourhoods and Homes We Plan Around
Downtown Guelph and the older neighbourhoods around it, such as Exhibition Park and the Old University area, are known for limestone and brick heritage homes. Thick walls, narrow original staircases, tight landings and converted multi-unit houses are common, and larger pieces sometimes need a planned route or dismantling.
South of downtown, the area around the University of Guelph and along the Gordon Street and Stone Road corridors has many student rentals, townhouse complexes and apartment buildings. Lease ends in late April and late August are the busiest, so booking early matters there.
The newer south end, around areas such as Westminster Woods, and the east side of the city are mostly detached homes, townhouses and newer condominium buildings. We publish starting prices instead of hiding them. Each package has a starting minimum, and that minimum reflects the crew size, the truck, the time included and the scope of the move. Beyond the included time, the move is billed on the time it actually takes.
A starting minimum is a starting point, not a quote for your home. Your written quote sets out the crew, the truck, the included time and what could change the price, before anything is booked.

Moves with a crew and truck start from $484 before HST — our Student / Single-Room Move (2 movers + 16 ft truck) starting minimum. Larger homes start higher; every package is on our pricing page.
The first 40 round-trip kilometres are included on local moves. Additional mileage/travel charges may apply outside the local area.
Every Stallion move includes basic coverage at $0.60 per pound ($1.32 per kilogram) per article, subject to the terms of your moving agreement, at no additional charge. It is not full replacement-value protection, so check what your home or tenant insurance already covers and tell us about high-value items before the move.
Assessment First
Photos or a short video of each room, the entrances and the parking situation are usually enough to plan a Guelph move. For larger homes or senior moves with downsizing, a virtual or in-home assessment may come first.
Bedroom count alone does not tell us the size of a move. A two-bedroom condo with a storage locker, a full basement workshop or a garage of tools is a different job from a sparsely furnished two-bedroom, and we would rather see it than guess.

Access Details That Shape a Guelph Move
