DONATION & DISPOSAL
Where Everything Else Actually Goes
People. Possessions. Peace of Mind.
A move into a suite means most of a household is not coming. Some of it goes to family, some of it is genuinely worth donating, and some of it has been at the back of the basement since the eighties and needs to go to the dump.
Left to a family, this is the part that takes weekends and ends in arguments in a driveway. Handled alongside the move, it is a sequence of loads with somewhere definite to go.
The Four Piles
Every clearout resolves into the same four destinations. Naming them out loud is what makes the sorting possible.
- Coming with you — measured against what the new place will actually hold
- Going to family — collected, labelled and delivered or held for pickup
- Donation — to organisations that will genuinely take it, in a condition they accept
- Disposal — removed responsibly, with recycling separated where it can be
How We Handle Donations
Donation is only kindness if the item is actually wanted. Charities turn away a great deal of furniture, and a load left outside a closed depot is fly-tipping with good intentions.
- We tell you honestly what is likely to be accepted and what is not
- We load, transport and drop off during opening hours
- We keep the paperwork the organisation gives us and hand it to you
- We do not promise a valuation, a tax receipt or a resale price
Disposal, Done Properly
- Loading and removal of what nobody will take
- Recycling and reuse streams separated where the facilities allow
- Electronics and metals to the appropriate depot rather than landfill
- The property left swept and empty, ready for a closing or a hand-back
- A plain account of what left the house and where it went
What's Included
- Room-by-room sorting alongside you, at your pace
- Labelling and separating the four destinations before anything moves
- Loading, transport and drop-off
- Donation runs during opening hours, with receipts passed on
- Responsible disposal of the remainder
- A swept, empty property at the end

What Families Tell Us
Brett and his team are always professional and caring, I feel as if they would treat each person they help move as their own Grandparent. They respect guidelines surrounding move times for our building, and make sure each piece they move is treated with care and concern.

I had Stallion Movers today to move my dad from his home to a retirement home and am so pleased with their professionalism, punctuality and friendliness. Brett and Mitch were so careful getting around the items that weren't being moved. They were very thorough and moved quickly. Also Wendy in their office was extremely helpful and patient with all my questions and emails. I highly recommend them for any service you need that they provide. They came highly recommended so I didn't even get other quotes and that was the right decision. Thank you!

Wow. Excellent service, clean, professional, timely etc. We needed to move my mother to a senior's residence and her stuff. The residence recommended 2 services and I elected Stallion - possibly (likely) the other may be as good but Stallion were exceptional. I would highly recommend them for any move not just a senior transfer...

Great company, prompt and professional. I have used Stallion Movers twice to move my parents into retirement residences. They are professional, and super easy to deal with and understand and respect the protocols with senior residences. I highly recommend them.

Questions Families Ask Us
Can you just take everything away?
We can, but it is rarely what a family wants once they think about it. A quick pass to separate what is going to relatives and what is genuinely worth donating costs a little time and prevents the phone call three weeks later about a particular chair.
Do you give a receipt for donated items?
We hand you whatever the receiving organisation gives us. We do not issue receipts ourselves, and we never put a value on a donation.
What about an estate, after a death?
That is closely related work and it has its own page, because the timing and the people involved are different — usually an executor, a closing date and family in more than one city.
What if the thing I need is not on your list?
Ask. The list on this site is what we are set up to do routinely, not the limit of what we will consider. If it is something we cannot do — or should not do, because it needs a licensed trade or a regulated professional — we will say so plainly and, where we can, point you at someone who does it properly.
Get the Rest of It Out of the House.
Tell us roughly what is there and what the deadline is. We will tell you how many loads it looks like and where each one would go.
