AGING IN PLACE
Staying in the Home You Know, More Safely
More Than Moving. A Brighter Tomorrow.
Stallion Movers & Seniors Services provides practical household support. It is not a medical, nursing or personal-care provider.
Not every senior transition is a move. Plenty of families are trying to make a house work for another few years, and the conversation usually starts after a fall, a hospital stay, or a visit where somebody noticed how narrow the route to the bathroom has become.
Stallion is the practical half of that. We move and rearrange, we clear routes, we improve what can be improved without a trade, and we are candid about the parts that need a licensed installer or a qualified assessment.
What Usually Makes the Biggest Difference
Almost none of this is an installation. It is what the house is asking for once somebody looks at it as a route rather than a set of rooms.
- Widening the walking routes people actually use, especially bedroom to bathroom
- Getting daily things off high shelves and out of low cupboards, into the middle
- Rearranging furniture so there is something solid to hold on the way past
- Removing the trip hazards nobody registers any more — mats, cords, a stacked hallway
- Better light where turns and thresholds are, not just overhead in the middle of the room
- Moving a bedroom to the main floor, which is often the single biggest change available
The Honest Part About Installations
Grab bars, safety rails and weight-bearing supports are the ones families ask about first, and they are exactly where a moving company should be careful.
Certain safety or weight-bearing installations, including some grab bars and structural supports, require an appropriately qualified or licensed installer. Stallion can assist with planning, recommendations and non-structural practical support, and will not perform work outside its permitted scope.
- We will walk the house with you and mark where support is actually needed
- We will tell you which items need a licensed installer and which do not
- We will do the practical, non-structural work around them
- We will not overstate what we are qualified to install
When Staying Put Stops Being the Answer
Sometimes the honest answer to "can we make this house work" is not yet, or no longer. We would rather say that than sell an afternoon of rearranging to a family whose real problem is a second floor.
If that is where the conversation lands, the senior moving and downsizing side of Stallion is the same company and the same phone number.
What a Home Safety Visit Covers
- A walk through the home, route by route, with whoever is involved
- The furniture moving and rearranging the plan needs, done the same day where possible
- Clearing and re-storing so daily items are within easy reach
- A written list of what we changed and what we recommend next
- Clear separation of what needs a licensed installer from what does not

What Families Tell Us
Brett and his team are always professional and caring, I feel as if they would treat each person they help move as their own Grandparent. They respect guidelines surrounding move times for our building, and make sure each piece they move is treated with care and concern.

I had Stallion Movers today to move my dad from his home to a retirement home and am so pleased with their professionalism, punctuality and friendliness. Brett and Mitch were so careful getting around the items that weren't being moved. They were very thorough and moved quickly. Also Wendy in their office was extremely helpful and patient with all my questions and emails. I highly recommend them for any service you need that they provide. They came highly recommended so I didn't even get other quotes and that was the right decision. Thank you!

Wow. Excellent service, clean, professional, timely etc. We needed to move my mother to a senior's residence and her stuff. The residence recommended 2 services and I elected Stallion - possibly (likely) the other may be as good but Stallion were exceptional. I would highly recommend them for any move not just a senior transfer...

Questions Families Ask Us
Do you do home safety assessments?
Not clinical ones. An occupational therapist or a qualified healthcare professional does that, and families are often referred to one before we are involved. What we bring is the practical layer: if you have recommendations on paper, we can carry out the parts that are furniture, storage, clearing and non-structural work.
Can you work from an OT's report?
Yes, and it makes the visit considerably more useful. Send it over beforehand and we will tell you which items are ours, which need a licensed installer, and what we would sequence first.
Is moving a bedroom downstairs really that significant?
It is frequently the change that buys the most time in a house, because it removes the staircase from the daily routine rather than making the staircase safer. It is also a real job — bed, furniture, storage and the room it displaces — which is the kind of work we do routinely.
What if the thing I need is not on your list?
Ask. The list on this site is what we are set up to do routinely, not the limit of what we will consider. If it is something we cannot do — or should not do, because it needs a licensed trade or a regulated professional — we will say so plainly and, where we can, point you at someone who does it properly.
